1. ¿Tendrá mi Garmin un problema del "año 2000"?

GARMIN is offering a free downloadable software application that will speed up the acquisition process. In order to use the software, you will need a PC/Interface cable for your GPS and an IBM-compatible computer with a working serial port. This application should not be used before August 22, 1999. Use of this application will help eliminate the period of slow acquisition. This program is offered as a service to our customers, but its use is not considered required or mandatory. The software is only useful during the one-month period between August 22, 1999 and September 21, 1999.

The information contained in this FAQ is based upon the results of testing and analysis performed by GARMIN using techniques intended to simulate reasonably anticipated Year 2000 ("Y2K") and/or GPS End of Week Number Rollover ("EOW") events and circumstances, based on information available in advance of the actual Y2K/EOW events. Due to the inability of GARMIN to control or precisely simulate the manner in which GPS satellites may be operated and perform during the actual Y2K/EOW events, the information contained in this document may prove erroneous.
